My buddy broke his 205

    Hey guys my buddy broke the front part of his 205 that bolts to the crossmember. Does any one out there have one.
    By the way it was bolted to a th350.

    You mean the adapter? Between the TH350 and the NP205?

    They are available New, at the G.M. Parts Counter. As is the Coupler to go between the Trans, and the 205.

    Did he have the support strut installed?? That's the rod that bolts to the xfer case, and then back up to the bell housing. That may have been what allowed it to crack, he may want to be sure to get one of those before destroying ANOTHER adapter! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Of course, that's just my opinion! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

    Ouch!! Been there, done that, and it ain't cheap to fix. I got a deal but they can range from 200-300 bones. They can also be welded, but if he goes that route, make sure he brings it to somebody who knows how to weld cast correctly (heating and cooling cycles).
