I just booted up my computer this morning...

I got an error saying that ntoskrnl.sys (or something like that?) was missing or corrupt.

That is about the 3rd time that has happened to me /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Last couple times I had to do a complete re-install of windows /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

    Gota love microsoft programs /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The only thing that is saving me right now is that I kept my old HD when I got the new one...and I still have windows installed on it...which is how I am typing this right not. I just can only use 800x600 max screan size

ok for one get ride of 2000. It was a real office based OS and is a big pain in the ass when use for the home. XP home or XP Pro are 10 times better IMO

I just put a copy of "ntoskrnl.exe" back into where it belongs (using DOS because I can't cut/past).

I'm going to try and re-boot now...wish me luck!

That's one of the boot files required to bring up Windows NT and it's later variants (Win2K is based on NT). It's possible to boot to DOS and then copy a new ntoskrnl.sys file from your install CD to the root of your boot drive. Then you should be able to boot from the hard drive once again without reinstalling everything. Once you get it booted, go into Help and search for "emergency repair disk". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

me has given me countless problems. for a while my computer was randomly shutting down, would constantly overheat, and for one thing, theres no process manager. there are processes running right now that are making my computer work overtime, and i cant shut them down. oh computer gods, take mercy on me!

is there a computer dance that would bring me a nice computer?

edit: oh good, my CD drive just stopped working /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif what f--king timing....
