Saturday my daughter turned 7. Seems like just yesterday that we were taking her home from the hospital for the first time. Well, yesterday she made me a very proud father. She had been growing her hair out for over a year now and her motivation to do it was because she wanted to Donate her hair to an organization called Locks of Love. I don't know if any of you have ever heard of them, but they collect hair and provide hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children that suffer from medical hair loss.

This may seem like no big deal to most of you, but it made me proud to see how excited she was to do this. This was ALL her own doing. My wife and I had never even heard of it untill she told us about it. She was tempted many times thoughout the year to cut her hair becasue it just got in her way. But then she would remember why she was doing it and stayed with it.

Well she finally grew it out long enough to donate and the smile on her face when they cut her hair and put it in the mail is like no other.

Here she is before she cut her hair.

And here she is after it was cut.

Just wanted to share with everyone!!! :2thumbs:

X 2:grin: I don't have kids but I do have two beautiful God daughters (yeah...I'm a Godfather so watch out:haha: :haha: ) 12 and 14 years old. I've watched them grow from a bump in their mums tummy to what they are now. They never cease to amaze me. I'm real proud of them. (and one of them is a red head Tim!!)

    Good luck to ya!:waytogo: :waytogo:

I won't get into the hair color debate. You have every right to be proud, what your daughter did is incredible.

YOu guys are funny. It probably looks more red becasue she was blushing in the second picture. There was about 10 people looking at her while she was getting her hair done.

I fogot to mention that she may actually be in TV. The Locks of love people asked us to video tape the entire experience because they plan on airing a show this spring to promote the organization. :D

AND I should of put down that i am a proud SON too. When my Mom hear about this she decided that she was going to cut here hair at the same time. Now the big deal here is that my Mom hasn't had short hair since she was 12 years old. She is now 59 and I think she likes it.
