I was at the Cleveland Autoramma car and truck show..
and someone swiped my digital camera... /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Well...I didn't ready like the camera anyhow..
It didn't take good action or low-light pics.. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

So...what's the best camera for about $300???

    Thanks

I've liked the results I've gotten with the Olympus digitals myself.

My Brother is a professional photographer and that's all he uses right now, albeit his are much more pricey.

For a hundred bucks more you could get the C-740 which shoots at 3.2 mega pixles, has all glass lenses (large ones for good low light and action shots) You can shoot movies with it, and it plugs in with a standard USB cable, making it very user friendly.

    C-740

I like my Sony Digital camera. Walmart has them for under $300.00 web page [IMG] Standard diskettes that you use in any computer is alot nicer then memory sticks. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif But it can use those also. [ QUOTE ]
Take pictures and store them on economical 3.5-inch floppy disks or Memory Sticks. You can even take short videos, too.

I have a Kodak DX3600 2.2MP thats pretty nice. Good enough to print and about 4xtime to big to post online, so its a good medium. It also shoots full color motion video with sound. Only bad thing the videos are in Quicktime.

About 1.5years ago I bought the camera, docking station and 128MB card for $294, probley under $200 now with the same setup

I messed around with quite a few of them in the $300 and under category and ended up with a Canon Powershot A60. I got it for $199. It's only a 2 MP camera, but for my uses that is more than enough. It was the most comfortable and user friendly camera I found (my opinion, of course) and the media is cheaper than some of the other brands. It also has a movie mode with sound. I lucked out and found 128MB Flash cards for about $20 each with a mail in rebate at Staples. The only difference I found between most $200 and $300 cameras was an extra megapixel, and that wasn't worth the money to me. Target had many models on display (w/o theft devices on them) with batteries in them ready to use.

My Fuji Finpix A205 is nice and was under $200. 2.0 Megapixels, haven't found a situation where it wasn't very good.
