Haven't been posting here much lately (read: not at all), but doing my fair share of lurking. Anyway, my neighbor hooked my up with one of the guys from JP magazine. They were looking for a cover shot for a new pilot mag, and my 73 fit the bill. We put the fender, hood and grille back on, and rolled the beast out of the garage. I got to keep the wheels and tires (35' Pro comps, 16x8 pro comps), as well as the warn winch bumper. The guy who took the picture got to keep the Matco Box, Winch, lights, etc. That's the editor of JP grinding away.

hey jekbrown are you still up for some wheeling in a couple of weeks? I will be there on the 20th and have a big party to go to that night but it looks like we have a good size group to go wheeling the next day and probably a couple more times that week.

and I havent seen that magazine at any of the stores down here /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif. maybe a book store?

In talking with the editors, it is currently a pilot mag. If things go well (i.e. potential to make money exists), then I would think they'd continue with the publication. But I think this issue was created because of a budget surplus for this year.

As for where to find it, tough to say. My buddy found one at a San Diego supermarket. However I have no idea if they're distributing it cross country.

Yep. Peterson's Publishing no longer exists. It was purchased a few years ago by Primedia, who publishes a LOT of magazines. You can check out the list at www.primedia.com

First it was bought by emap (an over seas mag giant) then Primedia. Not that this matters.
I bought a copy mostly hoping they will revive something like 4x4 Power if enough people do.
