I bought a house a year ago that was built in 1892 and it was a total remodel, but anyways, ALL my tools and dads tools were there and now are gone:mad: someone broke into a window and took about 8 grand in tools---pretty much everything to build a house--- and its all gone on this lovely christmas eve.

Merry ****in christmas to me:mad:

Your homeowners insurance should cover it.
Also, call P.D. to file a report.

Then you must own the house out-right then, correct?
Otherwise, how can you not have insurance  :eek1: ?!

So, were you still in the process of doing the renos? Did they steal your saws and drills and stuff?

Dude that sucks big time. Let it be a hard lesson learned though. Just because you own the house doesn't mean you shouldn't carry insurance on it. If the person who broke in and stole your stuff happened to have gotten hurt doing it they can sue you. Hard to believe but it's true. Also as obviously stated home owners insurance would cover replacement cost of the tools but not by name brand.
