i had been wanting a k5 since i saw one last summer sitting on a car lot. The other week, i got a phone call from my dad who said a friend of a friend had one to sell. Details were sketchy, nobody was talking. I finally drove 60 miles to meet the guy half way and see it.

    There it was.
86 K5, completely restored, new baby blue paint, tinted windows, kmc rims, 33inch tires, 2 inch blocks, brand new engine, edlebrock carb, intake manifold, loads of chrome everywhere, 2inch headers.. Not a spot of rust on it. Interior is in ungodly good condition, new buckets and new carpet. It was garage kept. Now get this. Since rebuild and the new engine were put in, it had a total of 650 miles on the od.

I bought it the next day, lol.

    so what do ya think?

    [IMG] told you i was 6'8 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now, ive got a few questions. Its got 2 inch blocks now, and i want to stick 4's ontop of that to make it easier to get into(im 6'8).
The front leafs bow over the block so im thinking i cant go to far before it becomes a problem. Should i just get new springs in the front?

    Also...
i can find those aux lights that alot of people have over the cab...but i cannot for the life of my find the bar you mount them on. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks.

    nice rig /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

but are you saying you have 2" blocks up front?

blocks should NEVER be used up front. if you do have them buy some 4" lift springs and put them up front and i would do a shackel flip in the rear. http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/shacklekit.htm

Nice Blazer. Just by the suspension kit. Front blocks are a big no no. 6" lift with maybe 35"'s is a good looking combo. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

im pretty sure it was just for show
    the guy never used it

he towed his boat once but thats it, hence the super low miles.

ive probably got that "i just bougth it, cant tear it up" mentality. Considering the last vehicle i had (83 k10) has been up 4 foot wide 4wheeler trails and every mudhole in the state.

Ok, we've got the springs taken care of...now how abuot those lights?

You can get the light bar at a few different places. Try Four wheel parts online. Or even try Off Camber 4x4.

Looks great! Front lift blocks and stacking blocks are both very bad ideas.

Front lift blocks are not only a bad idea, they are illegal in all 50 states. If you want to keep it at 2" get an add-a-leaf for the front. If you want more lift do not stack blocks. Other than that it is a great looking truck. If you remove the running boards don't throw them away-they make great shelfs!

I'd go 6" all spring suspension lift sence you're so TALL. Some 36" tires and the ODR 1" body lift also with poly mounts and ORD Zero rates in the rear, no saggy butt sysdrom. That thang is just too perdy to use for rock crawling of trails with trees. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Get rid of the running boards befor it rusts behind them, they hold moisture.
