Not sure when i'm starting......but i've got the job. :D

I'm tickled to death, this is a squared away dept. The chief is a friggin certified sniper, how bad ass is that? I snagged this picture off thier website, I probably wont have my own car for awhile, i'll work with somebody till I learn the lay out of the city. But this is what they look like. All the ones i've see have real dark tinted windows.

You went from being a county dawg to a city kiddie, I'm sad........................ :(

Welcome back. This crap is too addicting for our weirded out souls........

In fact, today I rolled up to the end of a pursuit by one of the local agencies and saw a familiar face. He had been back on the job 3 days. He left about 6 months ago to follow the money trail. I talked to him right before he quit, he didn't sound too thrilled about leaving, but I understood his position. Then a few months ago, I ran into him and I got the impression that he was missing it big time so it was no surprise when I saw him in uniform today. And on top of that, we rolled to help them out on a robbery that saw the victim get slashed up by a butcher knife. She's okay, a hell of a lot of blood. It was end of shift for him when the call came in. I left there thinking to myself he was back. He had a reputation of being the king **** magnet of cops around these parts. Nights would go by quiet when he was off, but when he was working, all hell was breaking loose and this guy has a real awesome since of humor. I wished I could work with the guy.

Anyway, welcome back and always remember to throw the ass kicking in the car cause you never know when y'all will need it............... :D

I can relate. I have kicked around the idea of changing titles from Deputy to Officer. Don't know if I will do it or not. They each have pros and cons.

Jeremy, congrats on the new job!

    For me, it's like this.

County- 1 bar and it's on the stateline. Anything happens down there, no one will be there when we get there.

City- Several bars. Why hang out around our bar when we can go to the city bars and feel good about it cause we're leaving with no paperwork???????

County- Hot call, punch it to the floor and leave there for several miles and enjoy the view.

City- Punch gas, punch brakes, clear intersections, avoid other cars, make turns and never reach 30 mph.

    County- No foot pursuit policy.

City- Those dumbass county guys showed up and now they have to run (true story from tonight even. Someone forgot to give me the memo it's cold outside :D )

At the time, it was because we did not have handheld radios. We have handhelds now, but not everyone uses them, so really the policy is still there; but I've be in two since I've been here, but they've both been in town and there were cops everywhere so it's a not a big deal. If we had someone bail from us out in the county and backup was 20 minutes away and we took off on foot, then there will probably be an ass chewing coming down the line.

Or the splatter factor when a fully loaded mosquito hits your winshield......looks like you've just nailed somebody.

Had a lightnin bug hit our windsheild once, looked like a kim light had exploded on our winshield.......that thing must've been as big as a Bat. Looked like radio active waste....lmao
