Well at Pacetronics they have them starting at $379.99 for a refurb or $429.99 for a brand new one

It kind of makes me wonder how they already have refurbs when those things just came out not that long ago.

The next radio I buy (as far as export/cb radios go) is going to be a Galaxy DX88HL

My faithfull RCI 2950 is still kicking strong but I wanna get another 88 due to sentimental reasons.

I understand the wanting more thing. I had a 33 way back. It was my first "big" radio. I soon went to a Galaxy 44 then all the way to an 88. The 88 was their top of the line at the time. Then I realized that the Galaxy 88 was the best for SSB compared to a 2950. I'm on my 4th 2950 now. The first 2 were stolen and I was dumb enough to sell the 3rd one. I've had this one for a little over 5 years now.

If you like the bells and whistles / noise toys then Galaxy's are a great choice. It's hard to beat the stability of the RCI 2950/2970's on SSB though. The President Lincoln is also REALLY stable on SSB.

My next dream machine is going to have to be the Kenwood TS-2000 though. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
