I just bought this dvd today with a giftcard for the price of $16.99 U.S., or roughly $57.45 Canadian. The disc features the first U.S. rock band to ever perform in Cuba, in a free concert that drew 70,000 Havannites to the Anti-Imperialist Plaza, including a documentary sharing the thoughts of the musicians. The set played includes songs from all Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, and Audioslave; with songs from the latter's two albums.

I have to say, the stage presence was rather lacking. Not much movement, but the crowd involvement was very strong. The instrumentation was there in full, but the vocals (powerful though they may be) of Chris Cornell are better suited to the studio.

My recommendation: unless you're a big fan (me), don't put forth effort to see this. If the opportunity rolls around, go right ahead, but don't expect a thrill.

I might have to check that out, I'm a pretty big fan of Audioslave too...and pretty much everything else Chris Cornell has been involved in.

Just a side note, the Can$ jokes used to be funny when the difference in currency was huge...as it is now $16.99 US is roughly $19.75 Cdn. Buying parts from the US is nowhere near as painful as it once was.

Great. I'm a step behind in making fun of Canadia. What's current?

Soundgarden really was ahead of its time (87-9?) and Rage had its 15 seconds, I still listen to louder than love and remember when...
I bought the first AudioSlave, and needless tosay was not really impressed. Not really Chris' best work, and I couldstill hear that Rage sound coming through, I'll just keep my good old SoundGarden.

Chris's vocals play a much larger role in the new Audioslave album, Out of Exile. Might want to give it a listen and see if you dig it. I spin Soundgarden's A-Sides all the time! :saweet:

Yeah, their new album is a little more "original", for lack of a better word. There are less Rage influences, and like Nathaniel says, the vocals are a little more prevalent on most of the tracks.
