my solution for mounting 14\" travel shock with 4\" of lift w/pics

i'd like to give a BIG thanks to Depdog /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif for spending all day helping me and doing most of the work /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif,when he wasn't talking /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. these are bilstien 6100 14" of travel they have 1/2" heims at each end. right now i have stock spring with an ORD shackel flip. but in the near future i will be installing and set of ford 57"ers. Hopefully this set up will allow a good bit of flex with the benifit of horizontal shock dampening.

i'd also like to thank Zakk for his ideas and pics /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I would love to do that to mine, but I need the use of my back seat. From the pics it looks like the hoops do away with the back seat.

Look awsome good work keep us informed. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

nope they are welded to the frame. click on the link below the pics and there's a few of the construction phase. the only draw back to welding them is if i need to install more than 1" lift i would need to cut them and shorten them /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif but i shouldn't be to bad

yeh i haven't had a back seat in several years now, plus with our older models there are no seat belts on the rear anyways so i never felt safe have some one sit back there.

the shocks are 35" fully open and i have around 6" of rod showing onlevel ground.

No way to angle them more to avoid the huge hoops, or would that loose dampening?
