My speedo in my 87 Jimmy is off now becuase I went from 235 75r 15's to 31 10.5 15 BFG AT KO's. I was wondering how I can calculate how far off my speedo is off. and If wost comes to worst, I'll just get a buddy to follow me with a cell phones or something to see how far it is off, but I was just wondering. I did have a friend follow me down the high way because we were double dating but I lost him. I never went faster than 70 by my speedo and he said he was doing 80 and I still walked right away from him. oops! Thanks for any help.

Do you have a speedo check section on your local highway/freeway? They have precisely measured 1 mile markers, and comparing those to your odometer reading will give you the percentage you are off. Do NOT use the standard mile markers, those are inaccurate...

Just the same, you can have someone ride with you. Hold the truck at what your speedo says 60MPH, and see how long it takes your odometer to go 1 full mile. Check the watch. Obviously, at 60MPH, it should take exactly 1 minute to go 1 mile...any more or less will be the percentage off you are.

One thing that I have done with my Blazer is find someone with a GPS system. The one that I used had speed in MPH knots elevation ect. So I did that and I was set. I chang my speedometer but i now know how fast I am going.
