99% chance that the frame is cracked at the steering box. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif That's a VERY common failure on these rigs. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

How loud is the clunk? Is it more felt through the steering wheel than heard? If that's the case, I might suggest worn draglink ends/steering box insides/steering shaft.
    Just throwing out some ideas.

it also could be that your axle is shifting forward and back because of a Sheared Center pin in your leaf spring, As for the frame crack buy the Frame repair kit.... Im sure all offroad shops can order you one if they dont carry it instock, then have a friend weld it on there....

Try tighting the spring's down some times they will loosen up and every time you turn it will make a poping noise.
Mine front springs do that about once a month so I got new nylon lock nuts and doubled them up and have not heard the poping noise anymore. Then last monday after elk hunting I was hearing the same noise and the spring bolts were tight. So on my lunch break I was driving down the road and I was going to turn right put the truck went strait into a fence. I got out and the draglink end had busted of. So just check all of your spring bolts and tie rod ends and make shure they have plenty of grease.

im probly gunna say its the u-bolts too, because of the fact that i bounce that thing over rail road tracks over here, really hard, and i see my leaf springs shift occastionaly, in front side to side, oh well if im feelin up to it, which i am, ill go take a long pipe and a socket and my 1\2 ratchet, im gunna go do that.
