I usaully drive up to the Oakland store to get what i want. Never had a problem there. I have bought my gears,Tires and shocks there. I needed a hi-lift jack. Shipping was only $5.00 so I ordered it on line. It would have cost me more then $5.00 to drive up there. My jack was do on May 16th. By May 21ST.. I checked the tracking # and it was damaged by UPS in San Bruno and was getting sent back to 4wpw. So I called ups and they said to contact 4WPW. After being on hold for 30 minutes. The guy said he would ship another one out that day (May 21ST) SECOND DAY to me. Today is May 30th and I still don't have my jack. I called them again today. I was on hold for 25 minutes while the guy tried to see what happened. Then I got disconnected. So I had to start all over. 20 minutes later they figured it out. They said they shipped the second one out on May 23rd.. I said Ok were is it. They couldn't run a trace on it for some reason. So they are shipping me my third HI-lift jack out tomorrow, but by FEDEX this time. I think I am getting the run around. I never had a problem in the store. I think I should have listened to this board. And not bought from them online. Sorry just venting...Dan

You'd be amazed at what happens to the packages in the UPS depots... They can break just about anything. A hi-lift would require some talent though. [IMG]

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!! [IMG]

it sounds like they lost your jack! But carton discarded........sounds like somebody got themselves a new jack midnight express or through some five finger discount. I would like to see how UPS could damage like 30 pounds of cast iron or whatever the things made out of.

Re: My story about 4WPW/STOP BUYING FROM 4WPW!!!

OK! I refuse to give anymore sympathy to 4WPW customers who get screwed! I'm sorry and the guys who say they get fine service in person... well whatever. Personally I won't give my business online or in person to these @ssholes. There has had to be a about 5 seperate posts started in just the past 2 months about different problems w/ them and every post seems to have between 5 and 15 different member w/ some sort of complaint. You have been warned. They have screwed over far too many people and are jerks. If everyone on this site would stop buying from them it could definetly make a mark in their sales... then if we could get the jeeps into the boycott you'd see these guys sink like a rock! Sorry to vent, but man do I hate companies like this... let's do our part to put these pricks outta business. Or at least not add to their sales and profits.

I understood the first one. That wasn't there fault it was UPS. And I wasn't mad yet. Then the guy said he would send it second day. At not extra cost.Because I was going wheelin that weekend and he said no problem. The second one is there fault. And I had better have my third one by this weekend our somebodys head is going to roll...Dan

I worked at FedEx for 2 years and you'd be surprised at the way packages are handled. Most of their employees are not usually at the top of the food chain if you know what I mean... FedEx has no problem hiring ex-cons! I'm no ex-con I just worked there cause they paid for tuition. I've seen a brand new crate 350 fall off a pallet on the way to the airplane... I damn near cried. I'm sure every other freight company is the same way.

I understand the 1 st one isn't their fault... but I mean obviously the second one didn't go out 2 day air! I understand mistakes... but seems like they have a mistake every 30 seconds. Personally I get extremely mad when someone says they are gonna do something and they don't. Just my .02 worth... but why give $$$ to this kinda business when there are so many other sources (especially net/phone sales)?

Maybe you can come to Sacramento and talk to my sweaty friend... he'll help you out! Yeesh! But really... they suck online and in person.... I doubt UPS broke it... bet someone ripped it off and took it home or it's now a high lift jack used by UPS to service their flats...!

Ok... for those of you that dont know me... I'm DBlazer's wife and I'm also a supervisor in package operations in Dallas for UPS.

First of all... the way the information reads... the highlift was not damaged, the carton fell apart and the contents could not be found. I know what you're thinking... It can't be hard to find a highlift jack... but you see 4WP does not always include a packing slip with their shipments. So the jack is probably in our overgoods department waiting to be claimed. In which we hold items for about a week and then send them to our national holding warehouse in Utah. So the jack was not damaged. Also, since 4WP did not provide you with a second tracking # it has been my experience that they forgot to ship it... and tell you that they did and UPS messed up. So they look good. But to be honest with you, the odds that 2 different packages going to the same place within 2 weeks of each other to get lost or damage is very slim... less then 1%. Proven statistics within UPS.
If you give me the info as to what high lift you got, color and brand and all, I will call tomorrow and check for you... If they do have it, I will have them either return it to 4WP or send it to you. Your call.

All of you need to be reassured that this was not damaged!!!
It fell out of the carton. Basically they can't pack anything correctly so it came out.
Send me an email with your tracking number either here or at my work and I will do my best.

Re: My story about 4WPW/STOP BUYING FROM 4WPW!!!

One more thing... I understand that all of you think that UPS was at fault for this... I'm not defending them... I too see daily what happens and I am guilty of tossing of few boxes myself... however... From experience and working for both Fedex and Ups along with Sia, American Freight, Yellow Freight and several others... no freight company handles packages individually. Ever.. regardless if it says fragile or not. If fragile is written on the package, someone will test the limits... and put something on it... almost every time.

Now... UPS can damage some stuff I can tell you. I have seen skyjacker lifts that have been broken in half... and indestructable cases get demolished...
From a UPS stand point they would not cover the shipping on this nor would they pay for a damage (if it was damaged) because it was not packaged properly.
One more thing... It is hard then hell to walk out of UPS with a high lift jack... most people that work there haven't got a clue what it is in the first place... and security is really tight... you basically have to strip down going in and out. a High lift is not exactly easy to conceal, esp since you have to go through scanners and metal detectors like they have at the airports. I wont lie... there is theft, but not this. It's too big.

I'm not mad at UPS stuff happens and life goes on. I have sent and recieved hundreds of things threw UPS and the worst thing that ever happened was a box torn apart but everything inside was Ok. What I am mad about is the second Hi-lift Jack. They probably didn't send it and they are trying to cover it up. If this third one doesn't get here by Friday then you will see somebody really pissed.........Dan

I can believe the post office breaking a HiLift, but not UPS. Sounds like your just another victim of 4WPW's crappy service.
