I got an interesting complaint at work today. It seems that someone I work with filed a complaint to management that I should not be allowed to park in the parking lot because my truck is too ugly! She even took a picture of it and attached it to the complaint! According to her, I should have to park in the street.

This is pretty funny, yet it pisses me off too. This is also the kind of person my neighbors are, who complain about me without even talking to me about it...

Looks like I'll be adding some new paint to the truck (it just got a new flat black rattle can paint job). I'm sure I can make it look even worse.

I'd park on top of her car tomorrow...at least then she will have a reason to complain. Tell em you were blinded by your truck's ugliness and couldn't see her car./forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I think you should file a complaint with the management stating that SHE'S too ugly.

BTW: I think your truck looks cool, man - it's got character.

At least you don't live here in CA. Here in CA they can take your car and crush it, without notifying you, and get away with it!

Someone in one of my car clubs had this happen to their 87 Ford Escort. It was registered, and insured (liability). It was NOT parked for more than three days on the street. It was "ugly", the neighbors complained. It was towed. He called the police reported it stolen. Two months later he found out it was crushed. He sued the city. He lost. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

    I want outta' CA.

I don't park my truck on the street anymore.

    Sounds like discrimination to me.

In a "like" event, I've had come complaints about my old FJ-45 aka "old rust bucket" but it's not drivable, nor insured. As for my other ugly truck... Piss On Em.. as far as I'm concerned!!

I agree with the 'she's too ugly' complaint.
Take a picture of her, attach it to the form, and say that she should have to sit outside. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

    And tell her, it's not ugly...it's a vetran.../forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Tell 'em your trucks isn't UGLY, its aesthetically challenged.

And I like the suggestion of filing a complaint that she is too ugly. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Up here ugly trucks are almost celebrated. The town I live in holds an annual 'ugly truck and dog contest'.

Similar thing happened to me here in Oregon. I had a CRX that was on the street and was ugly. Nieghbors called and complained so I was told I couldn't park in front of their house. I parked it about 40 feet and around the corner and they towed it that same day. The fees for towing etc. were something like $250. I had a Dodge van that I had parked in front of a friends driveway, the neighbors across the street thought that it blocked them from moving their expedition into their garage so my van got towed with no notice. That one was towed to not to the tow yard in that city, but towed across town and into another city. Fees for that one were about $200. I don't park my vehicle anywhere on the street for more than 4 hours anymore, except in front of my own house. It's kind of funny, I've never had a car stolen/broken into, except by the government /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif I guess I'm lucky they weren't crushed, but they were barely worth what I had to pay to get them back.

Well, I was bored, and happened to have a can of black paint in my hands.... One thing led to another and next thing I know, most of the truck is flat black. I have to admit, it IS pretty ugly and uncool looking right now. I have 31s on it instead of my 37s since it was my daily driver (no point in leaving $1200 in tires on the pavement between here and my work). I'll go snap some pictures of it and post them before I put my swampers back on (soon).

I like the idea of filing out a complaint that SHE is ugly, but I work in a sissy let's-not-make-anybody-mad-especially-a-woman-so-she-can't-sue-for-sexual-harassment kind of place. I think what I'm going to do is write "Eat Me" on the front bumper in red paint and try to get to work early every day and park it in front of her window.

I also thought about filling a water balloon with red paint and hanging it from a tree over a road. Then hitting it with my truck at high speed for a cool red accent. That would be a lot of work to clean off the windows and lights, though.

Maybe I'll fill out another complaint, complaining that nobody else's vehicle there will function after a nuclear EMP and that the company will be undermanned in the event of armageddon.

Tell her your collecting donations for painting your truck. That Since she complained, she should be the Platnium sponsor.

Wait till someone makes you move it, then drive something else for a few days and tell them they were right and your getting it repainted........THEN Camo it w/ lime green, safety yellow and flourescent orange. Theyll love it! HEHE!

OR file a complaint that her car is too shiney and is a safety hazzard. The sun may reflect off of it and blind you or other employees coming in to park. Tell them it could be a lawsuit waiting to happen. Unsafe working conditions. A liability issue. HEHE! 2 can play that game.

I think you should politely confront her about it and explain to her how much your truck means to you and how much fun it is....a piece of American engineering marvel....patriotic as apple pie....etc...etc.

Cry to her about how nobody understands the plight of the humble wheeler, they take away our access, crush our rigs...etc....etc.

Give it as much drama and sincerity as the gays, lesbians, minorites, and evey other special interest give in their rehtoric.

Using her car as a RTI ramp, calling her ugly, or otherwise behaving like she obviously want you to will only make it worse.

Appeal to her true liberal, NIBMY irrationality and she'll feel bad for making you feel bad....it seems to have worked for all kinds of crazy special interests.

They might end up giving your own special parking place....even people with minor back pain can get handicapped stickers.

    Good luck!
