My wipers go up and down once or twice ever 15 minutes. Replaced the switch (same kind that was in there) and wipers but know help. Anyone else have this problem?

I think there was a post about 1.5 months ago that addressed this. If I remember, it has to do with the wiring in the motor. Something about a common defect that GM chose not to do anything about.

Mud is just thick water, or is it that water is just thin mud?

Not sure if this will help or not.....there is an internal "park" switch that keeps power to the motor until the wipers are in the "park" or down position. Sometimes this switch get flaky and the wipers either stay on (even with the switch off) or stop in the middle of the windshield (instead of the park position). It should be under a cover on the front of the wiper motor.

I found this on the Chevy diesel LISTSERVE (NOT the Bigley webpage):

Take the cover off the motor to reveal the circuit board. It pulls straight
out. Resolder the connections where the connector for the wiring harness
mates with the board. Reassemble. The red goop is there to lub the wipers
on the board. Don't remove it.

just a question....if the wipers are extremely slow, is this an indication that the motor is on its way out?

    Knife.

Not sure I have exactly the same prob, but the good thing is, even if I don't have a hand for the switch during mud racing I can ran the wipers by going into a pothole or just punshing the dash with my knee, LOL
