    Name that axle (Pic\'s)

I think I have just been had! I bought this axle off ebay, the guy advertised it as a 14 bolt full floater, off a 3/4 ton. Here is the link to the auction: auction

Now here is what arrived today:
    new axle

Sure looks like a semi-floater to me!

The auction pic shows a removeable pinion if you look closely, that would obviously be the FF. Its also nice and shiney w/ a stop sign shaped diff cover.

You have a flat black diff w/ a round cover. Thats not the axle pictured in the auction, and yeah, its a SF.

Alright please excuse the dumb newbie question /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif but how do you distinguish sf from an ff axle, on the outside.

Bubba Ray has some family members up that way, they would be of the hillbilly faction. Should I place some phones to help y'all get some satisfaction? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

The hubs, removeable pinion support and a stop sign shaped cover. Theres an axle spotters guide somewhere on CK5, take a look at it. But once youve seen both they are very easy to tell.

The auction pics also show full floater axle shafts with no grooves for the c-clips.

If he doesn't make good on this and cover all shipping costs, turn him into ebay. They have fraud protection. I have threatened to use it, but haven't needed to.

That's NOT what it pictured in the auction.

Hopefully you get that squared away, but next time consider just going to a local Pick'N'Pull....14BFFs are pretty common and you can usually get them for around $100. That way you KNOW what you're getting! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Plus, their going to be a lot less rusty coming from a vehicle around here......NCBD has held "Junkyard Days" before, a bunch of guys go early on a Saturday and help each other find stuff they need....kinda a fun way to do it, and get some help lifting that axle into your K5!!!

    Yep, you've been had. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hope the selling corrects his ****-up. Otherwise I would be contacting eBay and letting them know of a possible fraud auction.

BTW, I would have sold you a 14FF for waaaaay cheaper than what you bid for. And, I'm also closer to you here in Kans-Ass. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
