i have a 79 k5 that has some type of roaring noise coming from the front end. I have replaced every wheel bearing and even the universal joint right at the diff but it has had no effect on the noise. i was wondering what suggestions you guys could come up with. i am still crossing my fingers for a solution before i crack open the diff and inspect the bearings. By the way it is a 30 spline 10 bolt but i am not sure on the year because it is a swap.

    thanks-
    Elliott

Is it full-time 4wd? I assume it is being that year. Sounds like carrier bearings to me. If you have hubs in the front and have them un-locked then that rules that out. But full-time front end always have the axles turning and usually roaring sounds indicated bad bearings and that usually means carrier bearings.
