Where does this go? I know its somewhere near the distributor. This sensor lost its label in the process of my engine swap. It seems to be a water temp sending unit but I can't find a place to stick it. Is there a spot for this behind the engine somewhere?

it looks like the oil preasure sending unit, drivers side on the block corner by the head and intake.

You're talking about the one on the back corner of the intake right. I have that sending unit in place already. I just can't figure this one out.

This on has a bigger thread size than the one on the intake, so I know it doesn't go there. I just ordered a GM shop manual today /forums/images/icons/smile.gif If I had it in front of me I wouldn't be bothering you guys with this.

I was guessing that! But where exactly. I looked all around the tranny but with my exhaust pipes in the way I couln't really see. Front, Back, Left, Right? Maybe this would explain why my OD never worked.

I just went outside to check too!! LOL you didn't have to. But you are right on. I looked at my old tranny (I swapped in a new engine and tranny) and it was missing right where you said. This whole time I had the truck (year and a half) I never had OD. Just thought the tranny was going bad since it was a 700r4. I guess this sensor was just hanging around under the truck. Thanks Dan, you came through!!

55Willy, you had a good guess, the two sensors are almost identical.
DuneRunner, thanks for the offer, I should've ordered that shop manual a long time ago. Lesson for the day: Don't do engine swaps without a shop manual, Haynes and Chilton's don't cut it.

Finally I can fire up the new engine tonight *fingers crossed*

Thanks again for all your help guys!
