Who all is from NC. I on eastern seaboard, and not a lot of wheelin but mud and beach. Wondering if there are any good open trails out western NC. Been out there a couple of times for campin and such, but tryin to see what would be open in Sept time frame for a weeks journey of campin and wheelin. I intend to take family, so not to remote or barren. If anyone is close by, it would be cool to start workin on k5s sametime, as I know workin in groups gives a lot of lessons learned as you run into problems. I don't think I have ever done a project without something going wrong. Just last night, helpin a friend do brake job, what should of been about 1/2 hour work turned into 2 cuz a lug bolt wouldn't come off, so had to cut and replace. This is the type of fun I always seem to have. Oh, well.

The Dixie Run is the first weekend of October. Its the biggest run in the southeast. Usually draws 3 to 400 rigs and people from all over the country.

Well, it sounds like west is the way to go for NC. I am in Jacksonville, NC. How rough is Tellico, as far as vehicle. I am gettiing my ready by then, but I don't know if I will have a bunch of extra parts to take along for trail ride breakage. The Dixie run sounds good to, but Oct. is real busy for me.

73GMC, what AirForce base is out there? Just checkin on mil. support out west NC. Thanks for info. Look forward to seein some k5'ers there.

Yield tome. I don't know what your rig looks like, but if you ever need parts, I am beginning to collect a crap load in garage, so let me know before you go all over the place lookin.

To the folks in NC and surrounding area. I would love to have a K5 run at Tellico, but I need to know dates and how tough are the trails. I think with all projects goin on this summer, a bunch of carnage costs might scare me off. How are the camping sites around there?

Hey Confederate9, how many times I gotta tell ya? I'm IN Raleigh! Haha.

Hey James 90, did you notice that they opened the pit back up over at Nash Tech? I was over there the other day when I was in town and they had the gate open and everything. The trails are open too.
