I own a restored 72 K5 stocker, but do not have any pics available today. Is this deadline firm, or can I snap some and go to 1 hour photo? Guess they would have to be Fed-Exed to huh?

If you can snap some right now and hit 1-hour photo that would be cool, I will contact the mag and you can send directly to them, they said they have an account with Fedex DHL etc.

    Steve,
    1. Do you think color pics printed on a standard color printer on paper would work?

    2. What would you/they think of some original pics of when the K5 was new?

    3. I could print and DHLa couple tomorrow of my '72 and my Dads '73.

Coming into this a little late but I thought I would explain what they are looking for. They need an actual photo because they are going to scan the image for print reproduction. All printed materials (except for some screen printing) is made up of dots of four different colors - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). They cannot scan a reproduction print (ie from a magazine or printed off a computer) because these images are already made up of dots. The scanning process takes the solid colors from a photograph and converts them to dots in CMYK. If you scan an image already made up of these dots, the scanner will try to turn the dots into more dots and you will get moiré patterns. Since they are ultimately going to digitize the images, I a high resolution digital file (at least 300dpi at 100% of the final output size) would work. I assume that they want to be incontrol of the scan quality so they want a photo. Also, they must be concious of copyright laws and they have no way of know if a scanned image is the property of someone else. If they photo came from a professional photographer, it would have their stamp on the back requiring written permission for reproduction.

I hope you were able to get something off to them in time. Let us know which issue it will appear in!
