would like to find the following:

    1. a 256 ram card- regular old DIMM slot

    2. power supply around 250 or 300 watt (regular old ATX single 20 pin motherboard power supply plug)

    3. around a 10 or 20 gig HDD, any brand model i dont care really, my only preference on this one is one that works,

    4. 64 or better regular old PCI video card, (nvidia would be preferred)

    5. a CAT-5 router, (preferably a linksys purple one and 4 port would be fine, or 3... or 2... i dont care really, i only am running one puter right now, so,,) and i dont want a wireless one..

lemme know what you have exactly, brand and part number,

and price plus real cheap post office or fed ex basic ground rate mail to 62656(toss in a box with crumpled newspapers or whatever and go

highest priority is power supply, it is dying on its last leg the fan motor is making loud screeching noises sometimes and its been run 24/7 since 1999 so its just about toasted, and every one i find and try wont work for some reason or another, either it wont boot or the p/s is dead, only my old original million hours run time one works so far.
second priority would be more RAM, thern third would be the router, then fourth the vid card and a HDD, i only have an old 6 gigger right now

later on i want to find an external storage drive like a zip or i dunno what else there is these days that may be better and worth a darn, i hear zip drives arent all that great.,

    any ideas?
im sick of losing hard drives and everything on them, i have lost everything over the years, it happens eventually and many times, it pisses me off,

    thanks

Aw man, I just threw out my old PC two weeks ago that you could of had.
I plan on getting an external hard drive, that way it stays when the computers time is up and I can hot swap between the desktop and the laptop.

r72, we have an 80 gig external harddrive by Maxtor. I forget what my dad paid for it, but it wasn't too bad.
It connects to the computer via USB cable. And other than that, it has a power cable to plug into the house. It's extremely portable (At least I think it is).

I've got a 40 gig secondary internal HDD. Has files on it from years ago. Gone through, many formats, many viruses, many spyware infections, with no trouble. Learn to partition and use it, and you never have this problem again :wink1:

    yeah static is a killer

also i noticed that this puter sometimes when im tocuhing the tower metal or a hDD or something and have my arm laying on the metal banding around this desk then i feel current travel out my arm

i think its my p/s not grounded right or something i dunno

the p/s is dying anyways, which is why im loooking for another,

so i try to avoid touching the tower with it plugged into the wall 115 source
