Hey I am trying to get some rough designs going for my front bumper, but I need a blank to work off of, hence needing the picture. I need a picture of a K5 front straight on front, decent quality and size, without a bumper.

    What ya got?

    Thanks,
    Krennen /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    Thanks Micah,
That is exactly what I needed, and damn sure easier than taking my bumper off to get a picture.

Dawson, Thanks for the reply, Michah just beat you to it.

What style of bumper are you planning? I just finished my latest creation with the winch mounted between the frame rails. I may have went a little overboard with the stinger /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif but I think it looks OK. Oh, and it has a about the same approach angle than the factory bumper.

    Daniel,
Well not real sure yet, Kyle and I are still doing some rough drafts. We have got the basic idea in mind, I am going with the stinger style, but instead of a hard mounted winch, I am going to use a multi-mount. Kyle has finally talked me into letting him get the sawzall after my sheetmetal /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif, we are going to clip everyhting pretty close to the same way you have done yours, front of fenders, rear of fenders and the bottom of the quarter panels. I am thinking the multi mount because that gives the options to winch eitther direction and gets the bumper closer to the truck for better approach angle. The rear bumper is pretty well designed for the most part, I think I am going to hi-jack your design with the stinger carrier and side armor. The front we are still working on, I will post up a picture when I get something drawn up.

Got any pics of your new one yet? I am curious to see what is looks like.

I like the idea of the receiver type winch mount. However, I would go with a double type receiver mount. This would use two class three type receivers located somewhere near the frame rails. This will give you the lateral side support you need when your yankin /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif from the side. Be sure and use plenty of gussets too for your triangulation. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'll post some pics tonight of the new bumper... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
