/forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gifI'm looking to get a 3/4 ton ext cab long box that would be both a daily driver and used to haul a camper.

I'd like to know some pro and cons to going the diesel route. I have my eye on a 1994 chevy 4x4 6.5 turbo diesel with ~100K miles on it.

What should I look for in evaluating it, what fuel economy benefits will I see over a gas big block.

I also read a while back that GM used to make their diesel engines out of gas conversions /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif- would this be one of those - any info on GM pratices.

    Thank for your input

GM diesels were not gas conversions ( even the 5.7's so I've been reading). The 94 6.5 is the first year of the electronics on the fuel injections pump. These have been know to overheat and fail at a higher then expected rate.
