    ok, i have already decided to go with a 454 in my blazer, question is which one to get. should i just get one that was the same for 73-91 or should i go newer, vortecs sure look good and my s10 did a hella job on one (a4.3 L v6), but it was a 96, the blazer is a 74??? what do i do!

    Get an oval port 454. You can research casting number stuff <a target="_blank" href=http://www.mortec.com/bbc.htm>HERE</a>.

    Vortec stuff is fine too, but I think you would have to machine a carb intake to mate up to the vortec heads... (Key words - "I THINK")

    I happen to know the best BBC Comp Cams cam PN - 11-206-3.
