    Steve,

You Bet! I'd love to own some 1st Gen CK5 stuff! [IMG]

Actually I grabbed a pic of the "Built Not Bought" circle logo, and started messing with it in Photoshop a few months ago.......airbrushed the top off......added round headlights and an early grille....tried to make it more like a 1st Gen.......

I wasn't very happy with the result so I just sorta gave up, plus I didn't want to offend anyone by changing their artwork (who actually came up with that logo initially?). I can show you what I did if you're interested, but it would really need more work before it was a "production" logo.

I prolly wouldn't mess with the CK5 logo but create a new one from scratch, we could even come up with a first gen phrase of some kind, I dunno, just looking for ideas.

I'd be interested too! I'll try to brainstorm and see if I can come up with any slogans. Actually, today it would be more like a light drizzle than a storm.

Shouldn't it be called uncommon sense?

Well, if you see something that looks cool (old pickup truck) we could change it to Blazer without to much trouble.

"1st gen's do it with their head exposed"

    hmmm, maybe not, just brainstormin'

I'd definatly buy a shirt with a first gen blazer on it.
Hell, I still need to get my membership.

I've thought about the idea of a first gen CK5 logo but never thought much of it... Now I'm excited to see what you come up with.

And LKJR's signature quote is "Like 'em Big and Topless" I thought that sounds pretty cool.
but some slogan that incoperates being a "first gen" or "early" blazer would be koool also.

...and how about a HOT Blonde in a bikini in front of the first gen K/5 !?!?
Okay, now I'm just brainstorming too. heh.

You know......The original Sales Brochure for the 1969 Blazer had a "tag line" on the cover that read:

<font color=blue> "Chevrolet Blazer - (The) Newest Way To Go Almost Anywhere"</font color=blue>

It might be fun to twist that around a bit and say:

"1st Gen Blazers - The OLDEST Way To Go Almost Anywhere"......or something like that! [IMG]

Somehow connecting the "slogan" to the original ad campaign seems appropriate.

Let's not forget that the 2002 Model Year now represents the 30th Anniversary of the 1972 K5... We could probably "lump" the four years together and do some kind of a 30-Year Logo on the back of the shirt.....I'm sure the Corvette guys have seen plenty of those commemorative logos for the 'Vette....?

Greg has got a damn good idea there. I like that slogan.
I like the "built not bought" logo and it would be killer with a first gen blazer...
And an all new logo/ shirt would be sweet!

Would the "built not bought" be incoperated into the shirt also.. or how about re-doing that shirt with a first gen blazer, and coming up with an all new design, maybe the 30th anniversery like Greg said ???

And what year of grille would be on the first gen K/5? we should take a vote or something to see what everyone thinks?

I have always thought the “Built Not Bought” slogan really says it all, but here are a few of my (lame) contributions. Maybe they’ll help spark some more ideas:

    1st Generation Blazer:

    Classic Iron
    Nothin’ but Air
    #1 Off Road
    Convertible Sport Trucks
    Broke the Mold
    Where were <font color=red>you</font color=red> in ’72?

    Or…

    It’s a Blazer thing… Understandably.
It’s my G1 and you can’t have it.

    Or…

I would be up for a shirt with an awesome K5 and a catchy slogan!

What about stealing or even poking fun of the "Its a jeep thing"

Steve, I am all for the 1st gen. products. I'm a fan of Greg72's idea to use the original sales tag in some way, but also like Tommy's ANTI-J$%* comment. I've been using the phrase. "You're right. I don't understand the jeep thing" for awhile. I'll keep brainstorming though.

Why buy it if you can build it better?
