Need flywheel for 6.2L diesel

    That pretty much sums it up, we're dropping a 6.2 in a work truck and need a flywheel to bolt it to the SM465. As far as I know (which may be wrong) the clutch should still work, just need the flywheel.

    a regular gas 350 flywheel wont work ?

    no a gas flywheel will not work. i just finished that swap last week. the diesel ones are 139 tooth. there is a discussion in the diesel forum about this. heavychevy had said that u can not use a 1992-2002 6.5 turbo diesel flywheel because the clutch springs will rub on the flywheel bolts. i guess that is true for centerforce clutches but as far as i can tell u at has worked on my truck with the cheap auto parts clutch (w/lifetime warranty) without any rubbing. I got my "new take-out" flywheel from Diesel Depot in georgia 1.800.553.8192 for $150. they also do tons of the same swap- automatic(th400/700r-4) to SM465 with 6.2s.
