need help fast

    does any one know how to check ball joints to see if they are bad without taking the whole damn thing apart? and how can you check tierod ends without taking it apart? please let me know asap.

    It's easy. Jack under the front axle until the tires are off the ground. Put it on jackstands, because when you do the test, it is extremely unsafe to do with just a jack under the diff. Next, get a friend and have him/her hold onto the front and back of the tire. Have him/her shake tire (in the direction it would normally turn.) While he/she does this, look at the tire rod end. There should be no play. The motion of shaking the tire should be exactly translated into the tie rod. Do this with the other tire too.
    Now for ball joints. Have your friend grab the top and bottom of the tire and rock back and forth. While he/she does this, look at the balljoints. Again, in both the top and the bottom there should be no play.
    These tests are so simple it's scary. They require no tools except for a jack and stands.
