    how do i get a 1999 chevy k2500 p/u to flash the trouble codes on the SES light? can i do a paper clip trick, or on off trick?

    i'm pretty sure on newer vehicles the only way to get the codes is to use an OBD II scanner. harbor freight has a generic one for about $40, or you can go to AutoZone, they will read your codes for free.
