I need some help designing the soft-top part of a custom soft-top using a trimmed down hard-top. I plan on using the existing support "beams/piilars" (if you look on the inside you can see them) and cutting out the sides and top then having a softtop made for it. Thiis way I can still use my rear window for added security and designing the softtop will be a lot easier. Here is quick pic of my proposed cutting.
I need help figuring out what will be the best way to keep the elements out, ease of use, appearance and security. I don't think snaps would do anything to keep rain out, and likely velcro would not be the most secure connection.

Any help is appreciated.

Good lord. The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up it's butt.
