Ok, now that I've got you in here, what the heck is going on?
My outter wheel seals are leaking and I'm hoping someone can tell me why from these pics:

Someone was saying something about a ring around where the drum slides on. Is this what my problem is? This pic should show it pretty good:

Sorry or the crappy images, but it's the nly camera I got.

    TIA --- Thomas.

Yep, that groove on the spindle is why it's leaking. A new spindle dosen't have a groove, it is completely smooth where the seal rides. Over time the seal eventually wears a groove in the spindle, just like in the picture. That is why I said you could offset the seal to clear the groove, or use a speedy sleeve. The sleeve goes OVER the groove, to give the seal a new smooth surface to ride on. The pics ain't to bad either, at least they're in color.

Hey, thanks man ...... I'll have to find a place to pick some of those up tomorrow.

.........Any suggestions? You think NAPA will have them?

Thanks again, I appreciate the info

    Thomas.

Willie Worthy, a tech writer for one of the 4WD mags, had a good tip for using the speedy sleeves a few years back. He said that they work better if you fill the groove with some epoxy and let it dry before installing the sleeve. Otherwise the sleeve can bend down into the groove since it's such a thin piece of metal. You'll just need to get the epoxy sanded smooth with some emery paper before installing the sleeve.
