On the the power steering pump on my '87 K5, there are 2 lines. One is a custom deal (you know where the elbows already have the hose fitted in with the metal collars) and one is the type where you have th elbows and you must cut the tube to lenght and clamp it on with some screw-clamps. I believe the custom deal is the supply line(the one that is "pre-fit") and the other is a return line. Am I correct SO FAR?
Now, where does each one insert into the steering box? I think the supply line (custom tube w/ elbows) enters the steering box at the hole that is aft and towards the drivers side of the second hole... Am I STIIL CORRECT...Let me know ASAP b/c I have to levae at noon tomorrow to go home for thanksgiving break.... ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. P.S. I am looking at Haynes now and still cant figure it out. Please just let me know which hose goes where. Thank you all sssoooooooo much..
Peace
Chris

I think you lost me cos my ps pump has one fitting and the other is an elbow that is brazed(sp) on the back of the pump. The one with the fitting is the hi pressure side. The other is just a return line. I paid $16 for the hi pressure one and got 5/8" gas line for the other side. Would a picture help you?

That jeep thing? Yah I understand it....... Like my Blazer? http://community.webshots.com/user/blazerk5

A pic would do wonders...I descibe it wrong....The pump has one place for a fitting, and the other elbow is brazed on and the hose simply slips over it...So the high pressure side is the one with the fitting...Now where does it 'plug' into the steering box? The hole that is towards the front Passenger Side or the Aft driver side Thanks again bud

The return line (line that needs clamps) conects in the rear or closest to the input shaft, and the high pressure (molded and fitted line) connects in the front towards the radiator.

Hope that answers your questions! Any YES, I think all your assumptions were correct!
