need help with 2 stroke engine.. i know nothing!

    so my friend drops off this 1970 something peugot 103, its a little scooter/motor bike, well its 2 stroke and i dont know the ratio of gas to oil to use, i got it upto 30 mph. There is no shifter, and if i stop fast with the brakes, it dies.... anyone help me out here? I want to make it ride nice and fast. Thanks

    Alot of the mixture ratio depends on th type of oil you are using ...#0 to 1 is good for most general oil ,while syntectics like a much higher ratio .

    Don't know if this will help, but I buy the bottle of oil at sears for my weed wacker. It's 1 bottle to 1 gallon of gas.

    different motors take different ratios.

    my Homelite weedeater takes 30:1, my 20" McCulluch chainsaw takes 50:1.

    i would see what a snowmobile, jetski, or some other small engine the same size takes and go with that.

    if its dying with the brake, i would bump the idle up a little.

    if you use synthetic you need to change jetting in carb much diffrent oil thickness make it run diffrent ask me how i know? new top end in bike now.:crazy:
