The yoke on my 14 bolt FF has a pretty deep groove in it. I went to my local parts store and wow, to my surprise non of the parts guys even knows what a speedi sleeve is. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Can some one tell me where I can order one from? The shaft diameter is 2.20". /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

An industrial bearing supplier (like Motion Industries) should be able to find a sleeve based on the seal part number.

This is how I found the sleeve for my 14 bolt spindles. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You wouldn't happen to still have the part number for those spindle sleeves would you? /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

I do have a NAPA. I looked on their web site and they didn't show one.

I used to buy them often from Carquest and Napa. I think they are also called Redi Sleeves.

Ok, the spindle sleeve part number is "99282". The brand is "CR", I believe CR stands for Chicago Rawhide but I'm not sure. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

It's a thin sleeve that you press on any shaft that has a groove worn in it from a seal lip. For instance my pinion yoke, and the spindles on my 14 bolt FF have grooves worn in them. You can still use the same size seal and it's a lot cheaper than having the shaft repaired or replaced. It's also a lot better than trying to push a seal in farther or letting it hang out a little to catch a smooth surface and hope it doesn't leak
The most common application that I can think of is on the harmonic balancer hub of a small block chevy. Even Autozone has them for those.

Found a source for the spindle shafts. Still can't find anything for the yoke. Anyone ever put one on their yoke?

Any Federal Mogul Dealer can help you out. Federal Mogul calls them Redi-Sleeves and they come under their National Seal line. CR (Chicago Rawhide) uses a similar numbering system and they might have the same part with the same part number.

You MIGHT be able to find one based on application but your best bet would be to find one based on your shaft diameter. Keep in mind that a sleeve of that size will run $50+ but that's still cheaper than a new yoke.

Chicago Rawhide has a much larger selection of diameters and lengths than National.

CR is Chicago Rawhide and they do have a large selection of sleeves. Stemco makes them to but are harder to get ahold of. Just find someone w/ the CR book like Napa or Carquest and they should list the sizes that you need. We sell tons of speedy sleeves here at work but they are mostly on Cummins accessory drive seals and crank seals and a few cats! I'll check if my book has the size you need, but think our book is for the big trucks only.

My book doesn't show one for the 14 bolt full floater. That doesn't mean you can't find one that is going to work though.

You can't find anything in the catalogs that list them by appication. You need to know the required diameter and length, and then go to the CR catalog.

    I have a National/Federal Mogul book.

It does not list a sleeve for this application but it does for others (I believe the 10 bolt and 12 bolt were covered).

    Not sure why exactly.

Does the shaft being repaired need to be machined down to make the sleeve fit?
What is the wall thicness of these sleeves?
