I might be swapping a 454 into my 86 Short Wide chevy. I have the water pump and crank pulley's along with the Alt. brackets, but I don't have the power steering brackets.
Are SB and BB chevy power steering brackets interchangeable?
If not where is the best place to find them? Other than a salvage yard "I've already looked around here".

    Thanks

I bought a PS bracket from GM a few years back. Cost around $40 new IIRC.

You will have to get the right brackets. I went through this and getting used can be difficult. I see them sometimes in the for sale forum.

I searched Ebay the other day looking for the same brackets for a friend and found several sets of them, both new and used.

What is a "short wide" chevy? I'm also gonna need the brackets so I'm gonna watch this forum.

Beast I think a short wide is a short bed fleet side, not a stepside.
Bigbad the brackets will not interchange. I got mine at a chevy dealership for around $40.I also had to get a different pump and reservoir because mine didn't have the holes to mount the bracket.

Thank's for the info. I'll try the dealer in the morning.

K10rion is correct on the short wide answer, thats just what my buddies call them.

K10rion, do you still have the part # for the bracket you bought? I could try they're part's direct web site. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
