I am planning a run in Fla. I need suggestions. I have never attended a run, much less planned one. I asked for help and RedDwarf came to help save me. (Thanx Chris) I also asked for ideas, and have gotten 0 responses! I dont want this to end up being boring but I really dont know what to plan.

I plan to take a ton of pics and try to do a write up for CK5, thats all I have. Can anyone suggest some "activities" or something? I openly admit to being clueless to this stuff, and I need some advice.

So far all we have is the date and place. I have found out I will need permits if it gets above 75 heads. I am gonna plan to meet everyone that is coming from the south that wants to meet up and caravan the rest of the way up. I will get a list of who has what for gear ( winch, straps, welder, on board air....ETC )

What else is there that I have not thot of, that is important, need to have info and such?

Also I could use ideas for what to do during the weekend. We are kinda trying to keep it to a bunch of buddies getting together to wheel type atmosphere.

    Thanks in advance!

Why not a poker run? You'll have to pre-run a set course or trail and hide a bunch of playing cards but they are kinda fun. You need fairly good attendance to make it fun though. Our club did one at night...night runs are kinda freaky if the terrain is right.
Plan a barbeque...wheelin makes me hungry. It comes down to volunteers for the cooking end of things though. Ask people to bring what they like to eat like burgers, hot dogs etc. At least then you all get a chance to eat and bench wheel, or re-tell war stories...[IMG]

    Just some thoughts...

As long as you don't shoot a ranger in the butt then I'd think you'd be fine... you don't know what good fun is until you shot a tater at a wild pig....[IMG]

What worked out good for us at the Blazer-Fest was I rented a big B-QUE. I think I only paid $40.00 for three days. I bought three huge bags of charcoal and asked every body to bring some more.. Every body was able to B-que off of it....Dan

Ha ha ha... [IMG] Actually I thought the tater flew futher? I thought the corn cob sucked but was only funny because it almost nailed me... [IMG]

Oh yeah Steve... something fun to do is find a big muddy swamp... one that has frogs. Make sure you have one child on this run and have him go into that mud to catch those frogs... talk about entertainment!

gokartergo has the right idea. Nothing brings folks together like eating together.
We should eat together rather than just each family for themselves. Make it kinda like a "fall camp" [IMG]

The fishing pole idea is a given. Those of you who like to catfish, maybe we could do that. I know a couple places to fish, though it may be a little cold.

    Anybody have horseshoes?

Still Poundin' "pavment" after all these years!!! [IMG]

<font color=purple> How about strippers ? Strippers are good ! Just kidding.......... Eat together, it's the best way to get to know each other ! Ever go to a wedding and sit with complete strangers ? By the end of the night, you're all good friends .........well in the most part. Maybe it's all the drinking ......... You know what I mean. I've met the most interesting people at weddings like that, besides, you'll all have an easy topic to discuss ......... K5's !!!!! God, I wish I lived much closer .......that's another idea, hold it up here :p LOL !

It landed like 10 feet behind me... I heard it go by my head!! I was only 40-50 feet from you guys...

The eating together was fun. Saturday night we all sat there forever and talked and listened to music. We did a big camp fire in the pit and sat around that. We did a raffle too that took up alot of the evening. Basically sitting around BS'ing can be fun.... it was for me anyhow...!

If the water isn't salt in Florida then your in a swamp. Leaches live in swamps. You still think it would be fun to jump in a muddy pond to catch frogs? hehehe I'll pass on that.
Ohhh and there is one other critter that has a high population in FL Gators.

I don't need no damn shop manual, I got a pornographic memory.

Actually this was just an idea from Hollister when Burt4x4's son went frog hunting.... that was entertainment and a half.... That mud was nasty too. I think Burt had to power wash his son when he got home before his wife would let him back in the house! [IMG]

These are all great ideas! Thanx everyone!

Grimmy, do you think that youll be able to make it down??

I think the jumping in the swamp thing is a bad idea, gators are a real problem, have a lot of teeth and a bad attitude! LOL!Sounds amuzing but just not safe in Fla. Oh yeah we also have Water Moccasins, they are real friendly too. We have all the quiet deadly animals in Fla.

What park are you talking about in B-ville Steve?

A big dinner is a good idea, no way to get to know someone than sitting and filling your face w/ them. LOL!

Fishing is good, I dont fish but sounds good.

Horse shoes were brought up to me last nite and I think I have a set someplace. I will look.

Im gonna check on getting a monster grille.

Thanx again and keep the ideas coming!
