Hey guys I'm doing some checking and need some information from you guys. I'm looking for a 1 ton Dana 60 front. What I need is the strip tag numbers for the axle. They are bolted onto the coverplate. I would prefer from a unit that has 4:10 gears in it originally. It doesn't matter what you have in it now.

Sorry but mine does not have a tag on it. Most that you will find probably will not have the tag on them.

I need all the numbers and letters. Depending on the year it should look like this:

    520C9406.....LS
    4:10........ 589S

Spacing wouldn't come out right so I added periods

Just be sure to put spaces in where they are in the tag like the example above.

    Thanks a BUNCH!

I've been laid off for 6 months now. Hoping unemployment will buy me a Dana 60!

What is a CUCV? I was reading about it in another post. They were talking about the hubs being different. Did it come off a dually? If not, send the numbers.

I have a Dana 60 off of a '85 CUCV. The tag reads as follows: 41-9
    4 56

That is all that is on the tag. Since you worked at Dana, have you ever seen the fish symbol ever used with a build spec? If so, what does it mean.

Where is the fish symbol at?

The 41 is your ring gear tooth count and the 9 is your pinion tooth count. If you divide 9 into 41 you get 4.56 (your gear ratio incase you didn't already know). I wonder if they stamped the chevy axle number on the tubes instead of puting them on the strip tag. Do you know? If they did they are probably 1/8" stamps. If you get some time and it's dry outside could you check?

    What does CUCV mean?

Here's what my tag says. I don't think it is what you are looking for though.
    41-10
    4.10

no it's not what I'm looking for. I'm starting to wonder if they were on the axle tube instead. If so I would guess the passenger side under the rust.

Here are the numbers that appear on the tube between the steering stabilizer and the drivers side perch. There is one more set on #'s but the axle is a little muddy right now and a little hard to find.

    6 11 5 8A 610201 1 SJA

My axles are supposed to have come off of a '85 CUCV which is a 1 ton military truck.
