    ok...

my k5 has been runing really good, but I didn't have the a/c compressor mounted. well I'm trying to get the thing mounted up, but I cannot figure out how the stupid thing goes.

I have an a/c on the top right side, and I'm wondering if somebody take a picture of how the thing sits in there, and how the bracket on the back side bolts up???

I don't know what year the pulley system if from, but I believe it is right before the serpentine with a single belt (mid 80's)...

    thanks,

Jeff, when you say right side, do you mean passenger side? If so, you can look at my site under TPI 406 page and see the passenger side mounted AC compressor on my serpentine setup. Hope this helps ya.

nope... it is top on drivers side. it sits right on top of the power steering pump so you can't even pull the cap off the power steering without removing the a/c compressor.

My '82 has a similar setup with the a/c bracket sharing intake bolts. Is that the same setup as yours? If so, I can snap a couple shots and email them to you.
BTW : Do you have the grille bowtie emblem from Jedi Mind Trick laying around that you'd like to part with?

Oh well, thanks just the same. I guess I'll go drop the $60 the dealer wants for it...

Did you want the pics of my '82 a/c bracket?

oh yea, and I think I've finally gotten this thing figured out. I'll let ya know if I still need the pics, and it does sound like the same setup.

why in the world my haynes and chiltons don't show some pics of the various pulley / serpentines I'll never know. I started going through every pic in my manuals, and when it was showing pics of the (get this) emissions stuff it showed me enough I was able to figure it out.

hey I there is a wrecked k5 up here with an emblem... I'm picking up the computer for another member out of it so I'll see if I can get the emblem for pennies.

Here's a lighted grille emblem for less than that. [IMG]

no problem I will... I got this all figured out, and back toegether. I think the thing that was really throwing me for a loop is one bracket didn't seem to fit because it bolted up to the manifold. well with my aftermarket headers the thing didn't seem to fit anywhere so I had to modify it.

anywa it is all fixed now! [IMG]
