    Need quick answer on 9012\'s

Going to order them since Summit has them cheap and need to know should I just order them for an 89 with 12" of lift? Just need to make sure I get the right ones to use on the Ford front mounts.

    Wayne,

The 9012 is the LONGEST shock Rancho makes in the 9000-series. It's your best bet of all the shocks in that series....

From what I've read, the Ford Shock tower will be plenty long for the conversion, and in fact you'll probably need to cut it down once you figure out the specifics for your truck.....my guess is with THAT much lift, you won't need the tower to be as tall as most of the rest of us!!! [IMG]

I just got off the phone with Steve Watson and got the answer. Basically I was worried about the offset sleeve in the factory set up and if the Rancho's would come the same way but they come with an assortment of mouniting pieces to make them work on about any application. I kenw what needed to be done to the mounts and all so I got that covered I hope.[IMG] Thanks Greg.

I just got your PM. Glad you got the answer quick. But for anyone else, just order the part # RS9012...no need to tell them what for....that part # uses the same shock eye that the chevy axles allow and the ford towers will allow too.

Yep, RS9012 is the actual part number for a Rancho RS9000 series shock, in a specific configuration. So a RS9012 is a RS9012. [IMG]
