need quick help, th400 dipstick removal

    ok on a th400 (like mine) does the dipstick just pop out of the tranny? there's a seal there but i'm not sure if it just pulls out or not. i'm replacing my flex plate and need to know, this is the last thing before i remove the tranny, case and crossmember.

    Yeah, just pops out, but don't forget the one bolt holding it to the bellhousing or back of the head.

    Yep, pretty much take the bellhousing bolt out and pull. I had a problem one time with a tranny dipstick tube where the rubber got puched up and couldn't get it back in at first. Something to watch for in the future when isntalling.
