i have an 1987 k5 and i recently replaced the intake manifold and the problem i ran into was when i was taking the throttle body off, the cable that is under the accelerator cable has a black end piece that attaches to the throttle body, well that piece snapped off. how do i go about fixing that

I don't think there is a way to repair that. Don't you just have to get a new one? Does anyone know if LMC carries them?

That sounds like the Throttle valve cable connector for your tranny. You shouldn't have to replace the whole cable to fix it. If I'm thinking of the correct piece, you can find one in any auto parts store (especially a cheesy one), in the HELP! section (little doodads, odds and ends).
Some of those connectors are impossible to remove without cutting off the stop at the end of the cable, basically screwing up the adjustment, so if you can, do your best to avoid cutting or moving the stop on the cable. But you should be able to find a Help part that'll angle over the stop and fit into place. I had to do this on my S10, and it is a PIA if you mess up the positioning.
If you can, try to slice the old part so you can get it off the cable, then bring it down with you to match up a clip on replacement.

    Good luck!
