A good friend of mine is getting discharged here soon for "undisclosed reasons." He's a great guy and it came as a shock to me. Anyways, I figured I'd try to cheer him up a bit, invite some people over to the dorms (he's on base restriction) and have a little cookout on the patio.

Now I just need to decide what to cook.

    Burgers
    Hot Dogs
Brat's -- no way to boil in onions/peppers/beer
    Steak
    Chicken
    Kabobs

Trying to figure a couple things to throw on the grill. Planning on maybe 4-5 people and a case of beer or something.

    Ideas?

    "A case of beer"

Is that all? Are you guys a bunch of pansies? 4-5 guys would generate around 4-5 cases, easily, especially if such an "event" as going away is happening.
Between my neighbor, another neighbor who lives 2 blocks away, two other guys who come over, and me, the most we went thru on a Friday and Saturday night was seven (7) 30 packs of Bud brand beer. Do the math on that.

If you get enough beer, he won't be getting discharged alone.:haha: You know what they say, a real friend is the one in the cell with you that says "that was f-ing awesome!"

Well, the 4-5 turned into a total of 3 and we had two of the Beck's mini-kegs and a 6-pack of Rolling Rock. Not too bad.

I grilled up some steaks in a good spice rub on a charcoal/mesquite grill :)

As far as I can tell, yeah.

We sat around and told "fish stories" from being in the desert, complained about our significant others, drank some beer, and watched a movie :)
