I found a 86 Blazer.. Beautiful !!!! The body looks 95% haven't had the opportunity to look at it carefully. Like floorpans, rust, interior.. It's behind a damn fence.. I had to get Cheri's Jimmy muddy to go look at it.. hahaha.
The used car dealership want's $4,850 but they said right off the bat.. this price is Negotiable.
I was considering trading my 98 S-10 in on it.
What would be a good (ballpark) price for a 86 in great shape?
    Thanks guys and gals

    Rocko,
I would say, $3850 sounds about right for a rust free K5. I'm sure you know exactly where to check for rust and stuff like that. Ask about how many miles on the motor and the trans. I think 86' was the last year for the bad 700R4. You can use that to lower the price. Goodluck.

What was the year they went to Fuel Injection? That's what I'm really looking for... I thought it was the tail end of 86.. and beginning of 87..
The truck they said has 158,000 miles on it.. with a perfect interior.. I will just have to go look at it..
Thanks for all your great input..
I need a K5 to Drive.. while I work on the other Blazer that's in Pieces..

87 was the beginning of fuel inj.
    Is it a 350 or a 305?
Pay very close attention to the tranny!
And try to determine the gear ratio

Scoob is right, 87' was the beginning of the TBI, so the 86' will still be carb. Also, he mentioned something I totally forgot, make sure there's a 350 in there, the 305 were still popular around those times. 350 didn't become standard in K5's till 87'.

Well..I looked at the truck.. It's a big no-go. The truck was nice.. looking, but mechanics and electrical was all shot.
Paint job was fresh, Hail damage all over the hood.. They attempted to cover it or repair it.
Transmission was leaking bad around rear main seal.
    Interior was all mismatched..
They wouldn't budge on the price, I offered $3,800( I even think that was high) And after pointing out all the problems, the salesman said "NO.. SORRY" I'll sell it for that price. Price they were asking was $4,950.
It had 158,000 miles on it.
Well.. Guess I'll just focus on getting the "PROJECT" on the road now. Just need an engine..

Yo Boss does this mean I've got a 350 in my 87 not a 305? I thought it was a 305, but looking at the specs sheet on this site and hearing what you just said, i've got my hopes up.Also does anyone know why I have to scroll sideways to read this post? These darn computers still baffle me now and then.
