almost 2 weeks ago, i bought a 92 C1500 shortbox to build as a nice cruiser. looking to get some reasonable fuel economy out of it with a little more than the stock get up and go. the body is rock solid, with only a dime sized rust hole in the cab corner (going to replace the whole corner), and a couple dents in the bed.

i've found a stance that i like, with a 4" drop in the front, and a 5" in the rear. the problem lies in the fact that it was a work truck. the paint is WAY beyond repair, so i'm going to end up repainting it. not a huge deal since my dad is a paint and body man, and my best friend and i want to learn the ins and outs of bodywork. we have all of the equipment to do the work here at home, and have had good luck with painting things in the driveway. i want to keep the paint scheme simple, but yet not something you see every day. i've come up with 2 that i like, but am really torn between.

what do you guys think of these? any other ideas?

and a clean slate for those of you playing at home...

my only requirement is that something on the exterior is some form of red, if there wasnt, it would make the interior look out of place.
also, the body mouldings will be gone, as will the rear bumper. might try painting the front bumper to match whatever the lower color of the truck is. :dunno:

I didn't know Spanish was your first language, I don't like any of those...I don't think the line is great enough to accentuate, I'd go with a solid.

I think the red top, and white bottom looks good beater. Nice stance also.

I'd go with a dark grey and a deep red then. But my colorblindness lies to me all damn day.
