this may sound weird but what exactly is pinion bearing preload? Also what are the torque specs on the pinion nuts(front 10 bolt and rear 12 bolt) after preload is set?would appreciate any help.

thanks found an even better sight,www.differentials.com.sight is called west coast differentials. has everything you need to know. By the way if anyone wants to know, pinion bearing preload is set first to determine correct pinion depth and to insure that the depth will not change after pinion nut is tightened(300 to 400 foot pounds).
