need switched ingnition power source

    ok i know very little about elcetrical connections, i need to splice into a switched ignition power line in the engine compartment. my truck is an 87 350 tbi. any suggestions.

    I would check for an available "IGN" terminal on the fuse box. If there isn't one, the wire colors should be:
    Big Brown - ACC
    Big Pink - Ignition

    BTW, its very easy to go to a wrecking yard and cut the correct fuse panel accessory plug off of a car or truck that has an IGN acessory plug, then splice your wire and the connector. Nice, clean, secure connection.

    you can also use the male connector off of a crimpy dealie ... fits in there just right and doesn't go anywhere
