Need to \"borrow\" a pair of 24\" Tires and 6-Lug Wheels...

I am trying to conduct a "quasi-scientific" experiment to determine the effects of re-gearing my truck from 3.73 to 5.13 gears.

Doing the math in reverse, I can "simulate" a 5.13 gearswap buy installing a set of 24" tires on the rear axle and driving around. With the exception of looking REALLY stupid [IMG], it will give me the EXACT same feeling as if I had done the gear swap, and I get to find out if I like it BEFORE I spend the money....!!

Anyway, I know that nobody probably has a truck tire that small.....but if there's someone in the San Jose, CA area that has a pair of tires and wheels that would bolt up to my 6-Lug axle....I think it would be an educational way to spend a half-hour of the weekend.

If anyone's interested in helping out, please let me know.

24"[IMG] WOW that is small. The smallest I found was a 205/60-15 ( which is a hair under 25")If you had a 14 bolt they wouldn't touch the ground, the pumpkin would hit first,LOL
Just put it in low range and pretend thats it's in high,LOL.

    55Willy,

Well using LOW as HIGH would be a 7.31 Gear!!!! I think the acceleration would be fierce!!!

......and I'd be turning 9700RPMs at 65MPH!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA [IMG]

    Greg-
I called a friend who has a pair of "dinky" tires for a 2 wheel drive truck on 6 lug rims...
sounds like they might be close to 24"
I'm gonna call him back tommorow, maybe go over to his house and measure em. he said they're old and might be all cracked and not sure if they're drivable, but I'll scope it out for ya.

Otherwise i have that set of 33" all terrains that are smoked down to probally more like 31.5" so we could bolt those on your truck as well and take a couple pictures of what that 427 can do![IMG][IMG]

Ryan you know that tires measured in inches are not truely that size, as in 35" are actually 33" at least I'm pretty sure that's right. If this info is wrong let me know, as in greg measure your tires if you get a chance, and ryan you might measure yours don't know what 44's actually measure

    Like em big and topless
    You call THAT...a 4x4....LMAO?

    Les,

It will depend on the manufacturer.....some of them do take some 'liberties" in what they call a 35", or whatever. My 35's are only 33".....but from what I've seen, Interco's tires (Swampers, etc) all measure VERY close to the advertised sizes.

Something to be careful of.....When I go from my 35" to a 38" TSL....I will actually getting a tire thats 5" bigger!!!! [IMG]
