In 1st gens the NS switch is in the column down by the firewall along with the backup light switch too. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You could put in a floor shifter from B&M...they have the switch in them.

I put in a stock 72 tilt column into my 1st generation truck.
I have the backup/neutral saftey switch at the lower end of column. I just need to know how to wire it up like stock.

    Any more tips?

You need to find a stock wiring plan and see what's diferent between the manual trans and auto trans trucks. As the 1st gen didn't have a clutch switch like the later ones did. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You'd probably be better off getting to the yards and getting an under-dash harness out of a '72 with an automatic. If you need to meet emissions testing, you will also need the under hood harness so that the TCS will work.
