Damn...Vancouver and Dallas heading into quadruple overtime here. :doah:

I'm gonna be tired tomorrow if someone doesn't score soon, but not as tired as the poor bastards playing right now.

I guess someone forgot to tell them that just because it's a 7 game series they didn't have to play all 7 games in one night. They've already played two full games so far.

    Wooohoo...

Henrik Sedin scored at 78:06 of overtime. Canucks win the opener. If I saw the stats right this was the 5th or 6th longest game in NHL history and almost made it to the 5th overtime period. Luongo had 78 or 79 shots against him tonight.

silly canuckistanians and their hokey. I heard in ESPN radio a little while back that hockey had even lower TV ratings in the USA than bowling. BOWLING. holy crap.

I went to a Stars game once. A bunch of guys skating around in circles didn't really do much for me.

Hockey is great once you understand the game...there isn't a faster or more physical game out there. Pretty much all the teams in the west are just lethal this year. The teams are all playing so well and are so closely matched it's pretty much gonna be a crap shoot as far as trying to predict which team will make it to the finals.

I think the biggest thing that has hurt the NHL is the relocation and expansion of teams in to nontraditional hockey markets. I just dont care to watch two teams from say Florida and Arizona play a game on ice. I don't know it just seems strange to me..........

I think that like baseball the lockout seasons hurt the fan base and turned a lot of people off.

I have to give them credit for a few rule and format changes that have made the game faster and more fun to watch. I'll give them some negative credit for the stupid way the schedule is. East and West teams hardly play each other at all. Not seeing Montreal, or Pittsburgh here in Vancouver this year sucked.

something has to make the normal American sports fan want to understand a non-traditional game... and hockey really doesn't draw most of us in. I watched elephant polo on ESPN one time... but hockey? Just doesn't do it for me.
