Dangit, how do I delete threads I started??

    Edited update:
I got a job offer today at a site I'd been covering since the engineer left.

    It's a HUGE awesome opportunity.
It's the chance to get into a related field I've wanted to but never really able to dedicate the time to learning. This is going to be full time intensive training for the first 6 months.
If I don't like it after 6 months, I can literally slide right back into my old job (he will keep the position open until we see how this shakes out).

I'm psyched, but nervous and a little sad to be leaving my old job. I have almost no experience or knowledge of the work I'm going to have to do, not to mention no real "management" experience, and this is a management position...

I'm not sure if there will be a pay increase or not. It really depends on what the last guy here was making, which no one could figure out today, and I think I was making more than him in the city.
My boss and I both talked about this like 2 weeks ago and agreed I was not suited for the position at all. Now he's having trouble filling it, I apparently have a crapload of cheerleaders at this site, so he offered it to me.

    There are some cons:
-I'll be putting more than 4000 miles a year on my car now
-I will be driving to work everyday
-No more train to wind down or work in peace on
-I don't know jack about what I'm doing, and $18 million of revenue will depend on my abilities
-The facility is so clean I think I get sick when I work there too long
-I won't be working in the city anymore
    -I'm on call 24/7/365

    There are some pros:
-I will be driving to work every day (=45 minute motorcycle ride on nice days :woot:)
-No more train to get stuck on and miss my kids events
-I don't know jack abotu what I'm doing
    -The facility is clean
-I won't be working in the city any more
-This site is desirable fairly mission critical, and usually NOT a place for a beginner or teeth cutting; that says a lot about my bosses impression of me I think...
-I'll be worth some more cash if I decide it's for me after 6 months
